In California, Hollywood Blvd. is a landmark. Here in Disney's MGM Studios, it's fittingly the center of the park. From here you can slip off to all other points of the park. You will also catch any parades right here. In addition to being the "Main Street" of MGM Studios, it also hosts some really cool attractions and restaurants.

Because of the design of the park, you will spend most of your day crossing over this area. But don't be to hasty in your passing through. The street actors here are very entertaining, and enjoy some of the unique shopping here.
The Great Movie Ride provides for an excellent place to escape the heat or rains for an extended period of time.
Avoid this are during the parade (unless you're intending on watching) as it's hard to move around.
If you arrive at park opening, skip the stores. Stop on your way to your first ride, and make a reservation for lunch and/or dinner halfway up the street. Return to the stores during the midday and do your shopping then.
If you see a street performer, stop and watch. These guys are very funny. Often times, while waiting for a parade, you'll find these guys helping you pass the time.
