Parades & Fireworks

Until very recently, Parades didn't exist in Epcot, and the place to go for fireworks was Epcot. Then in 2000, Epcot became the center for the Millennium Celebration, and they came up with a parade to march around the lagoon. Tapestry of Nations was born. With characters created by the character designer for the Broadway version of the Lion King, this parade moves around in 3 separate parades around the Lagoon.

Illuminations is a staple at Epcot, and up till this past summer, I thought it was the best fireworks show. It comes in a close second to Fantasmic at the MGM Studios, but not much ahead of Wishes in the Magic Kingdom.

Everyone wants to watch from the entrance to World Showcase, so if you wish to watch from there, plan on staking out a spot for up to one hour.

Pay attention to the direction the wind is blowing. Make sure you're up wind from the lagoon, so the smoke will not block your view. I've found that Canada is typically a good place.
