Supports for the bridges and ramps are burried 4 feet deep into the ground
Opened May 5, 2005
To keep cool (since the car has no AC remember) the drivers wear water cooled vests
The tires are specially designed for the show also, over inflated to 80 psi for spinning and leaning the car on 2 wheels. The average life of a tire is 2 shows
A hydrolic E-Brake is used in the cars to do spins up to 540 degrees
The transmission on the cars is also custom built, with the ability to do 60 mph… IN REVERSE. 4 gears forward and 4 in reverse
The jumps are timed perfectly, with a speed limiter switch set for the exact speed of each jump
Some cars have more than just a basic shell (no radio, AC, etc). Some cars will have pyrotechnics of their own for bullet hits and even a canon
The gas tanks were pulled, and a small one inserted that is just big enough for 1 show
The engines are all behind the drivers, to provide greater stability during spins and jumps
The cars were Opels, but then stripped down to custom chasis, to create cars that way just over 1,000 lbs., and lightweight 1300cc motorcycle engine that provides 152 hp
The bullet hits on the ground are actually pneumatics (compressed air), that spurts water up which looks like bullets hitting the ground
Beneath everything there is a pit that holds liquid propaine, most of which is used in the show finale
Housed in a 177,000 sq. ft. areana, that includes a 5,000 seat stadium
