Ellen's Energy Adventure
Rating: 3 Stars

Ellen DeGeneres, Bill Nye the Science Guy, Alex Trebec, and Jamie Lee Curtis all star in this remake of the EPCOT classic. In this attraction, Ellen will tell you about her dream, where she became an "expert" on energy.

I love what they did with this attraction. It used to be so long and boring. Now it's still long, but it's way more exciting, funny, but most importantly educational. Oh, and watch out, I think one of the dinosaurs is allergic to humans.

Each ride vehicle weighs more than 15 tons, is guided through the attraction on a wire that is only 1/8” thick.

The power generated by the cells provides 15% of the needed power for the attraction.

These cells can produce up to 77 kilowatts of DC power on sunny day, which is stored and then converted into AC power for later use.

There are 80,000 3”-cells, arranged on 2,200 solar panels, covering 2 acres of surface.

The ride closed on January 2, 1996 for the big change over, and reopened on September 15, 1996 as Ellen’s Energy Crisis, and renamed Ellen’s Energy Adventure less than 1 year later.

When this building first opened, it was the largest privately funded solar installation in the world.

First opened on October 1, 1982
