Space Mountain
FastPassRating: 4 Stars

This is the great rollercoaster of the Magic Kingdom. inside this mountain lies a rollercoaster that zips around in the dark.

This is my second favorite coaster because the line kills it for me. If you don't have a fast pass, expect to wait around an hour.

There was once a sign in the queue that had a typo in it and was left up for over 10 years. Instead of reading "Space Mountain, it's out of this world!" it was "Space Mountain, it's out of this would!"

The cars in Space Mountain only reach a top speed of 28 miles an hour, it's the darkness that makes it seem faster. But if you go late at night, you might go a little faster because the greese on the wheels will be warmer and less viscous, allowing for faster spin

This attraction was originally going to be called Space Port and built in Disneyland, but it was first built in Walt Disney World with the name Space Mountain

The location of the loading and unloading areas causes the Alpha track to actually be 10 feet longer than it's twin for a total of 3196 feet

The mirrored track design (with Alpha on the left, and Omega on the right) is very rare, especially for an indoor, dark coaster

The only attraction to be built outside the Walt Disney World Railroad tracks.

Originally sponsored by RCA, FedEx took over in 1993.

The mountain itself is over 180 feet high, and 300 feet in diameter.

Opened January 15, 1974.
