Big Thunder Mountain Railroad
FastPassRating: 4 Stars

Beware! The Native American God's have been angered by the the blatant disregard for the land by the 49'ers that have come to look for gold in Frontierland. There has been flooding and earthquakes. So far, the god's have been successful in driving off all residents except one (you'll see him floating in his tub near the beginning of the ride).

This ride is not for the squeemish. It is a rollercoaster (a mild one, but a roller coaster none the less).

As the back story goes, there is a magical protection of the mountain, keeping it's beauty (which you see when you first enter the mountain). But miners didn't head the warning, and the town was flooded. The story itself is the same in both Disneyland and WDW EXCEPT in Disneyland it's and earthquake and not a flood that affects the town.

The Rainmakers name is Professor Cumulus Isobar

The flooded town in the attraction is the town of Tumleweed.

To add atmosphere to the attraction, designers scoured ghost towns for authentic carts, cogwheels, buckets, and other stuff.

The mountain itself is completely manufactured, reaches 197 feet, and is the tallest "mountain" in the Magic Kingdom, and reaches a top speed just under 40 mph

Resembles scenery in Monument Valley, and looks so authentic that exterminators have to check it constantly for Rattlesnakes and relocate them

Opened September 23, 1980.
