Come and join us for another installment of the WDW-Memories podcast, where I try to make it possible for you relive your Walt Disney World Memories when you can't actually be there. We'll continue our shortened day in Epcot as we have finished eating outside the building in Mexico, and now we'll head inside for a ride on the great little party boat.
I don't know how it is where you are, but autumn is here for sure. In fact, I'll probably have to listen to this memory on Sunday while I'm outside collecting up all many colored leaves off the ground. I may complain, but it's cool weather, and with my headphones on it will feel just like our day in Epcot. A nice cool breeze blowing on our face, but the music of Epcot's Mexico Pavilion surrounding us. So let's jump right in shall we?
Let me set the stage. It's a Monday at the end of January 2015, and my whole family has traveled to Orlando for a week vacation to celebrate my Dad's milestone birthday. The bright sunny day is starting to wane, and the earlier winds are now occasional breezes, but without the sun it is starting to cool things off a bit. The crowds are light to moderate (a 5/10 on TouringPlans.com) but in this park that still isn't bad.
In memory 152, we got to see probably one of the favorite shows in Epcot, the Jeweled Dragon Acrobats. As we finished the show, we continued our trek around World Showcase thinking we were getting ready to head to Canada, but as we've proven, we've been very fluid in our plans. We stopped for some more food in Mexico, and ate it beside the water. However we quickly realized how cold we were, so instead of continuing outside, we decided to just get inside and get warm on the Gran Fiesta Tour Starring The Three Caballeros. As soon as we get in, we can feel the warmth returning. I have always loved this pavilion. I don't think any other pavilion transports you like this one to the country, and it’s always consistently evening in a plaza in Mexico. The line is short, and in no time we're on the boat and off to find Señor Donald.
As we exit our boat, we figure out where we want to go, and begin to make our way to Test Track. Unfortunately we'll be surprised as we arrive, only to find out that Test Track is closed currently, but might be opened shortly. And this is where we will stop again for this week, so you'll just have to check back next time to see if we get on.
Now sit back. Relax. Close your eyes. And come with me as we float through Mexico helping to find our missing duck friend.
