Come and join us for another installment of the WDW-Memories podcast, where I try to make it possible for you relive your Walt Disney World Memories when you can't actually be there. Today we'll begin a new adventure as we start reliving a day at Epcot during Flower and Garden Festival, beginning with getting parked, entering through the Main Gate, and picking out our FastPass+ times.
Well hello everyone and welcome back to the WDW-Memories Podcast. Before we get started, I have some good news to share… I’m going to Walt Disney World! And even better than that, I leave in a week! Yeah, short notice I know. It’s something we’ve kind of been talking about for years with my family, but just have not quite pulled together. Up until December, I wasn’t sure if we were going to be going, and up till this last week I wasn’t sure how many days it would be. So the plans are settling, and right now it looks like we will be in the Walt Disney World parks some of every day from January 26-30. So if you’re going to be in the parks then, send me a message via social media or the voicemail line. I’d love to say hi to you in the parks. But for now, let’s get back to starting new memories.
We are finally ready to start a new day at Walt Disney World, and you all chose to go to Epcot from our trip in March of 2014. Personally, I’m glad to do something besides the Magic Kingdom. Epcot is a great park, filled with many sounds that trigger such great memories, and this day we’re going to relive is one filled with many firsts. It’s not their first day in Epcot, but it will be their first one they remember.
So it’s a damp day in the first week of March. The weather is cool and cloudy with some drissles every now and then. There are predictions of heavy rain coming, but so far it’s holding off, and it might miss us all together. The Crowd Calendar on Touring Plans predicts a 3/10, however it ends up being a 5/10, but between the lines app and some smart planning, we should be able to negotiate the crowds pretty well. It’s also Flower and Garden Festival in the parks, and this is the exciting part for us. We’re really looking forward to seeing some of the beutiful flowers, but unfortunately the weather probably won’t be conducive to great photos today.
We’ll pick up with the memory as we’re arriving at the Epcot Parking Lot. It’s minutes after park opening already, and the parking lot is still fairly empty. We’ll pay, park in our spot, and begin unloading. Jackets and ponchos go in the bottom of the stroller. Cameras and tickets in hand and we’re off finally. We’re so close though, there is no need for a tram, and in just a few minutes we’re getting through bag check and on into Epcot. We’ll stay with the memory until we get our set of FastPass+ for the day. The new system is recently implemented here in this park, and we’re still not comfortable with how it works best for us. We’ll leave off after we set our times and begin heading for our first attraction.
So I like this park a lot. It’s funny, of the parks we’re planning to go to on our upcoming trip, the kids are more exicted about Ecpot it seems like than the Magic Kingdom. Now they haven’t been to Hollywood Studios or Animal Kingdom yet, so this could still change, but Epcot is a family favorite. I miss the regular music that is changed out during Food and Wine or in this case Flower and Garden Festival. But as you can hear, we’re not letting anything dampen our spirits. It should still be a lot of fun, and I look forward to sharing this day of memories with all of you.
Today’s memory is in binaural, so I’d suggest putting those headphones on to fully immerse yourself in the memory.
Now sit back. Relax. Close your eyes. And come with me as we begin our day in Epcot and start new memories.
