Come and join us for another installment of the WDW-Memories podcast, where I try to make it possible for you relive your Walt Disney World Memories when you can't actually be there. Today we'll continue our day in the Magic Kingdom. We'll pick back up as we leave Peter Pan's Flight and head to the back of new Fantasyland and catch a showing of Enchanted Tales with Belle.
Let's Go O's! Can you tell I’m pumped for the Orioles in the postseason? It’s been a very long time as a fan since the Orioles have won the division, much less one of the best records in the major league. I can already see what a good portion of my next couple of weeks will include, lot’s of great baseball. But this is not a baseball podcast, it’s a Walt Disney World podcast, and a darn good one if I do say so myself. Anyways, let’s get back to it. Today, we’re going to return to the Magic Kingdom and continue reliving the memory from September 2013, and catch a showing of the new Enchanted Tales with Belle.
So as we left our last memory, our family had just finished riding Peter Pan’s Flight using our old paper fastpasses. We’ve decided to go back into the new part of Fantasyland and get in one of the longest lines we’ve had all day to enjoy the new Enchanted Tales with Belle. Unfortunately, there was no avoiding this line by the time we got to the park, so today we’ll wait the 10-15 minutes it takes before we are ushered into the Maurice’s Workshop, and then the show takes off.
This is attraction is not new really. They used to have the Storytime with Belle show (which I never actually saw), but it seems to be about the same. The big deal here though is the very cool home they have now created. The mirror in Maurice’s Workshop is awesome, then as you walk through and into the castle the world just sucks you in. You round the corner and see Madame Wardrobe, and you can’t believe your eyes. Of course as you guess, I am picked for a Suit of Armor role, which should provide us with an interesting perspective on this show. Once everyone has a role, we’re shown into the Library where we await Belle. My first view of Lumiere just leaves me in awe. This Audio Animatronic is not one to be missed, you have to see it. Finally Belle arrives and the story can really begin.
If you’re like me, the main reason I wanted to see this show was because of the cool effects and audio animatronics, but the little story and interactions afforded the children will have me coming back in the future. This show is very different a special. It’s not just a meet-and-greet with a character, but it has a way of making everyone feel special. There is that missing opportunity to get a little private time with Belle, but it’s still fun.
Today’s memory is in binaural, so I’d suggest putting those headphones on to fully immerse yourself in the memory.
Now sit back. Relax. Close your eyes. And come with me as we share a tale as old as time with our friend Belle.
