Come and join us for another installment of the WDW-Memories podcast, where I try to make it possible for you relive your Walt Disney World Memories when you can't actually be there. Come join us as we continue our day in Walt Disney World, picking up at the Monsters, Inc. Laugh Floor exit and then run into Push the Talking Trashcan on our way over to see Dream Along With Mickey in front of Cinderella's Castle on Main Street, U.S.A.
Well bad news. The California trip is on the fence now, so it may not happen afterall. Not sure where we’ll go for a summer vacation now. But as usual, I’ll keep you all posted in case I might be able to squeeze a bit of Disney in. In the mean time I’ve got wonderful memories of Walt Disney World to relive with all of you. Memories such as this one. Today we’re going back into the Magic Kingdom and we’re going to continue our day as we bump into Push the Talking Trashcan on our way to see Dream Along With Mickey on the Cinderella Castle stage.
We’ll rejoin our memory as we exit Monsters, Inc. Laugh Floor and return to the warm September Florida heat. We collect our stroller that has been parked as we played for a while now in Tomorrowland. We’ll get the kids in, and begin our way towards Main Street, U.S.A. to get a spot for the afternoon showing. As we’re making our way towards the bridge we see a small crowd in a circle all watching something.
Turns out Push the Talking Trashcan is holding court and entertaining guests in this small circle. I quickly move the kids into position so they can see this wonderful streetmosphere character. Sadly, we only stick around for two minutes because we want to get a spot to see the Dream Along With Mickey stage show.
We’ll gather the kids again and head across the bridge to stake out a spot. The crowds are not here, and there is good reason. The temps are really high today and have reached the upper 80’s with blazing hot sunlight. So we have no problems getting a front row view of the stage. Susie hops down and heads up front to sit down and see the show. I pull Mikey out and sit him on my shoulders so he can see. There’s maybe 50 people here for the show, so no problems getting a good view, and before we know it the show begins.
As the show ends, we’ll gather the kids and head out of this heat in search of cool refreshment and a break again from the heat, but we’ll save that for our next memory.
So let’s talk about the now missing Push. Sadly, he was another casualty of Disney Evolution. I don’t know why Disney no longer features him in the parks, but I was always entertained by him as I came upon him in the park. I wish he was still around, but I’ll be interested to see what Disney comes up with to fill his spot.
As for Dream Along With Mickey, it’s a cute stage show. Poor Mikey wanted to go up and meet Minnie as she was doing the show. Personally, I think it gets a little too scary and dark for some small kids (including mine). And I think the stage show destroys the wonderful view of Cinderella’s Castle that used to exist. But hey, I’m not the target demographic for this show really.
Today’s memory is in binaural, so I’d suggest putting those headphones on to fully immerse yourself in the memory.
Now sit back. Relax. Close your eyes. And come with me as we spend some time baking in the sun watching Mickey, Minnie, Donald, Goofy, Pluto, and many others in the shadow of Cinderella’s Castle.
